Bank Holidays are invariably saturated with bombastic events and mouthwatering lineups, however, you are unlikely to find much better in North London than the Bank Holiday All Dayer hosted by Garage Proud on Sunday April 16. Taking place at Proud Camden, a 1,000 capacity venue renowned for its excellent club night / live music hybrids, this should be an unmissable climax to your Easter weekend.
The event will be headlined by Lambeth born Big Narstie, who continues to find himself at the forefront of the ever-expanding UK Garage scene, in no small part due to his aggressive but addictive stage presence and his quirky antics on social media. Expect his most recent single “They Don’t Know,” released in February of this year, to be a focal point, as well as tracks from his 2016 mixtape; “Base Society.” Aside from this new work, much of the set will likely retread “What’s the Story Brixton Glory,” Narstie’s second album which married Britpop instrumentals with his own idiosyncratic MC style.
The rest of the lineup is stacked with a series of classic garage acts. Oxide & Neutrino are true veterans of the scene, perhaps best known for their second album “Execute,” which reached Platinum on release in 2001. Further down the bill, Pied Piper will reunite with Sharky P and MC DT, hopefully to spin their smash hit “Do You Really Like It.” These won’t be the only chart-topping performers gracing the stage of Proud however, with Lonyo set to retread his hit single “The Summer of Love.”
Tickets are currently selling at super-earlybird for only £10. Doors are at 3pm, with the event scheduled to last until 3am. Proud Camden is a nightclub, and as a result, the event is 18+.
