Brixton Fightback, Electric Brixton

Brixton Fightback, Electric Brixton

Brixton-based acid-house country troupe Alabama 3 are perhaps most famous for the title soundtrack of award winning gangster television series Sopranos. But some of you may not know that the band’s career actually began way back in 1995!

The Guardian have dubbed them “The best live band in the country”. So you can expect gospel licks and harmonica tricks blitzed-up with a healthy dash of ironic spoken word lyricism in what promises to be a brilliant home-town show for the gang.

Main support on the night comes from perhaps the most impressive young band to emerge from London in a while, the Fat White Family. Their country-tinged psychedelic rock and penchant for show-stopping excess has made them one of the most hyped UK bands to emerge in recent years. Fans of the Brian Jonestown Massacre will no-doubt fall head over heels in love with them (if they haven’t already that is).

Sharing the bill on the night is relative newcomer to the scene Misty Miller.

Actually, she’s been quietly bubbling under the surface of the public consciousness for a little while, having experimented originally with acoustic folk musings. More recently though, she’s experienced something of a transformation, shedding the ukelele in favour of an electric guitar and a distortion pedal.

The result is akin to Chrissie Hynde in her early twenties backed up by the hottest rhythm and blues band on the circuit.

Also performing on the night are Lara Lee, Potent Whisper and ESE.

This is one heck of a line-up and promises to be a show of epic proportions. Tickets are on sale now.

Don’t miss out!
