After having fame thrust upon them in their infancy with a live slot at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in 2014, Glasgow based synth aficionados Prides have since continued to release a steady stream of radio-friendly electro-rock.
By early 2017, the band have one album, “The Way Back Up,” to their name, and multiple singles, the most recent of which, “Away with the Night,” dropping a matter of weeks ago. Hoping to build on their early success, the band are promising a second album later this year, and the possibility of some of this material being tested on their Spring tour should be reason enough for fans to book in at the Scala on Tuesday March 21.
Originally a three piece, the band have been reduced to a duo with the departure of drummer Lewis Gardiner. However, this should do little to dampen the sound of a setlist with a reputation for being loud and frantic.
We’d also advise gig-goers to get to the Scala early to catch Twin Wild, who were announced as support in late February. Having gained viral success with debut single “Fears” in 2014, Twin Wild have a similarly bombastic and arena-orientated sound to the headliner. Both acts look set to make the 800 capacity venue shake.

Tickets to watch Prides are only £10 in advance, with doors from 7.30pm.
The gig is a 16+ event, regardless of whether those younger attend with a responsible adult.
