Beth Jeans Houghton’s second album is her first as “Du Blonde”, tearing up the rule book and rewriting it with a new sound, band and attitude. “Welcome Back to Milk” is a stripped back, but snarling record of heavy riffs, loud drums and a cathartic excision of aggression sure to captivate and catalyse the live crowds attending her UK tour this June. Despite this musical agenda, the singer retains the poignancy and innate tenderness fans have come to admire. First and foremost however, expect attitude as Houghton promises to stop hiding behind her guitar and look the audience dead in the eye. We can’t wait to see what she’s cooked up.
