With their tenth album, “The Dancers will Inherit the Party” only weeks away, British Sea Power are taking an intriguing digression on Wednesday April 5, performing in tandem with a selection of Polish animated films at the 15th Kinoteka Film Festival.
Obscurists might remember that the sextet followed up their successful “Do You like Rock Music?” with “Man of Aran,” a film score composed for the documentary of the same name by Robert J. Flaherty. Indeed, the band have soundtracked several other screenplays, including “Happiness” in 2014. This time however, the band will be turning their cinematic focus from sweeping shots of Irish scenery to seminal Polish animation.
It’s all quite out there, but British Sea Power are a highly adept outfit, and it should be an engrossing evening.
Tickets cost between £15.00 and £22.00 with doors at 8pm.
